Another Bear Lake getaway...this time with our friends

Our boat! This was our last trip with our boat! We sold it a week after we got back. I was surprised how fast it sold! I guess I'm not really. It was in excellent shape. If some of you are wondering why? It's because the last 2-3 years we maybe got out on the lake the most 3 times a year! Can you stand it?! I love going boating! It is such a riot! It is a great family activity, but to be honest we have other things that we do and love. We are trying to simplify our lives with out soo many things to take care of! So, going to Bear Lake with our friends was a nice goodbye.
Randy, Bryce and Cody at the condo. Hanging out, playing games having fun! :)
The captain of our ship! My hubby! :D
Do you think that we have enough kids?! We do! The Young's have 4 and we always seem to out beat everyone with our 5! Despite all the kids that make it a little crazy. We had a blast! I love Bear Lake. I admit it is a little colder than most but, it is so clear and clean!
Cole, Gabe and Randy. This was our last hurrah on the boat!

Family Time at LAKE POWELL

We had such a great time with Todd, Amy & fam! (Bryce's brother) We went down on a Thursday night Bryce,Cole, Alayda, Meryn and I.We took our trailer and made the ferry to cross the lake to Halls Crossing. Todd and Amy met us there. They brought their boat. Good trade off huh?! We thought so. We went exploring the lake on Friday. My brother in law knows all the "HOT SPOTS"! We saw such beautiful land marks, coves, place's to swim, place's for great shade! My favorite place I got to see was HOLE IN THE ROCK. Todd took us over here and I immediately felt some kind of sacredness. This is where my my great, great grandpa; Platt D. Lyman came down from this major cliff to settle the San Juan county. He was one of the first pioneers to do so. Looking at the cliff from the lake was an unbelievable site! How in the heck could they do that? Todd ( who knows all) he really he does! Just like Bryce...told me a lot about the history of these pioneers. He said that we were 30 higher in the water from the bottom of the lake. I can not really comprehend what these great and noble men & women went through. I have had such admiration for the experience, faith in God to do this mission...On a much lighter note on Saturday we played a lot on the water. We had such a great time! On Saturday night we ended up going to Monticello to stay the night and then headed back to home later on that evening. I can not find my picture's that I thought I had. I took so many too. So, I will just have to update later! :[ Yeah, also this was in August too. I am way behind trying to catch up on my "journal"!

Westcott Family Reunion at Bear Lake

Beautiful Bear Lake. This is the view from our cabin. My great uncle Paul on my dad's side has this place up here. We have been up here about 3 other times than this. It is huge and accommodating for a big group. We always have such a great time here. ( Um, yeah the reunion was back in August! I know, I know! We had such a busy summer. Things just got crazy here! So, now that we are getting hit with cold weather I am able to stay at home and update!)

Aloha! A trip to paradise...

Finally! It has taken me a while to post something! I know, I know! So, this is back in July over the 24th. Bryce and I decided to go to Hawaii. We went to the North Shore and stayed at Turtle Bay Resort. It was absolutely beautiful. We had a great time. It was so nice to just relax! We went kayaking, snorkeling, exploring, touring the island and much more. Our favorite part was snorkeling!
The beautiful temple. We had some picture's of us in front of the temple but I am not going to share those with you!
The temple grounds..
Pearl Harbor...taking a boat ride to the USS Arizona.
Bryce viewing the names of those who died at Pearl Harbor.
If you look close you can see the ship in the water...erry!
You know we had to get a game in! So, why not at the "Arnold Palmer" course? It was 2 minutes away and the resort drives you there.
Bryce playing his ultimate sport!
It totally rained on us. Our clothes where all stretched out and wet. We were aware that this kind of weather is normal.
The "pig". I am actually proud of myself for eating meat now. When I came to Hawaii um, maybe 16 years ago with my dance team I was totally grossed out! Now, I can accept that we "normal" humans eat meat! It took a wonderful patient husband to show me the "real world"! ha ha
This is US! Do you like how my face is burnt? When ever we go on vacation we always rent a convertible. You know just to keep us young! Anyway, I always wanted the top down and boy did I get what I deserved! I could barley allow the flower "lea" by my face. I was so burnt!
The Polynesian Culture Center. Another beautiful land that the "church" owns. Nice and clean! :
One of the original boats that came to the Hawaiian islands. Amazing!
Ewe la la! The Tahitian dancers where the best! They are the one's that shake those hips! :)
Ahh...Hawaii has the most beautiful sunset's! I have lots of picture's but this one was my favorite! See the reflection of the sun in the water?!
Another beautiful picture...
This is one of the view's from our resort. We had such a wonderful time! We often reflect on how relaxed and peaceful it was there! We SO want to go back soon! :)
